“I want to feel happier and less depressed.” “We would like to improve our relationship.” “I would like to feel calmer and more in control, in spite of the stress, loss and trauma I have experienced.” “We want to help our children cope with our divorce.” “We need to figure out how we are going to live as a divorced family.” These are some of the most frequent goals of my clients as we work together. Many of the stresses and conflicts my clients face can be due to life’s experiences and losses or can come from within. Stress and conflict can lead to disintegration of relationships with our partners and our children, and even in how we view ourselves. Strengthening coping skills, emotional connection and intimacy can help repair fractures, increase compassionate understanding, and build closeness. Focusing on positive growth, shifting well-engrained patterns, and building greater self-acceptance can create lasting change and happiness. As a clinical psychologist with over 40 years of experience, I help adults, couples and families, by integrating many different therapeutic approaches to best fit my clients’ needs.

My experience as a therapist includes working at the NYU Counseling Services for many years. I have a deep understanding of the challenges both undergraduate and graduate students face with the changes, separations and transitions involved in becoming independent adults. It is a time filled with excitement as well as stress and worries about the future. The internal and external pressures, expectations from family and demands of the academic world can feel overwhelming at times. For graduate and doctoral students, there are the stressors of completing programs, dissertations and the challenges of seeking employment. Students may also be struggling with feeling alone, isolated, anxious, depressed, dealing with body image self-esteem and sexuality issues as well as social pressures around alcohol and other substances. Therapy can help in navigating these challenges, offer insight and reduce stress. I am a compassionate, extensively trained and interactive therapist. Together, we can work to develop strategies, address negative patterns of thought and behaviors, manage stress and help you deal with relationships more effectively. I am also trained and certified in clinical hypnosis which can be very useful in managing the physical and psychological symptoms of stress and anxiety including phobias, GI issues such as IBS as well as reducing symptoms of depression while increasing self-confidence and success.

Welcome! I’m really glad you’re here. Taking the first step toward seeking support is one of the most important decisions you can make, and it’s one that shows great strength. Life’s challenges can often leave us feeling overwhelmed or stuck, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Together, we can focus on understanding how certain patterns of thinking and behavior may be contributing to your stress, anxiety, or low mood. You will gain insight into how these patterns impact your day-to-day life and learn practical tools to make meaningful changes. My approach is rooted in helping you develop skills that you can apply in real time to manage difficult emotions, reduce distress, and regain a sense of control. The goal is to work collaboratively, identifying specific strategies that empower you to shift your perspective, break negative cycles, and move forward with greater resilience and clarity. If you’re ready to create lasting change and build a life with more balance and peace, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

Imagine a world where you don’t lie in bed for hours replaying every situation in your head staying up way too late and ruining the next day. Instead, you fall asleep peacefully and can make major decisions without it fully consuming your night, sleep and over all day to day. Inside, there’s a voice that questions your worth, filling you with doubt—but you're ready to rise above it. You're tired of holding back, and deep down, you know you're meant for more—more confidence, more peace, and deeper, more fulfilling connections. I get it! I create a space in which you will feel relaxed while also allowing for you to feel understood. I will not just sit and nod, I will ask you questions, guide you and challenge you. I enjoy blending CBT and psychodynamic perspectives to ensure the most meaningful healing process. You deserve someone who is competent and caring. Let's connect!

Through careful listening and an empathic, honest approach I can help you feel better about yourself and your life. You may feel stuck in a job or relationship, or overly stressed with the demands of school. You may want more from life but not know how to get it. You may be struggling with with the difficulties of parenthood or marriage. I can help with artistic, creative, or intellectual struggles, body issues, sexual problems, substance issues, imbalances of life and work, impulse control, past trauma, or even just a general lack of inspiration or motivation in life. The goal is always to feel better about love and work. I welcome adult individuals and adolescents into my practice, with a focus on college students. My work is psychoanalytically informed but pragmatic, and it is important to me to get to know my patients well and to spend time working collaboratively through their needs. I hold master's and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from The Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA and completed my psychoanalytic training at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research in New York. Psychotherapy can benefit people facing a range of challenges. Currently, I see adults and adolescents struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship or interpersonal difficulties, and sometimes with health/illness issues. I see many people experiencing distress and other symptoms associated with life transitions such as adolescence, marriage, new parenthood or challenges in family planning, divorce, professional or personal role redefinition, retirement, and aging. I provide counseling to individuals and couples struggling with the shifting roles and demands of these complicated times. Therapy is a collaboration. I bring a warm, curious, nonjudgmental nature, an appreciation for individual differences, spontaneity and value of humor. Together, we explore patterns, thoughts, and feelings from the past and present. Clients begin therapy not only with identified concerns but also with resources that can be harnessed for lasting change. I use an active, contemporary approach to psychotherapy. I integrate psychodynamic, relational and cognitive-behavioral models and, where appropriate, health psychology, tailoring my work to each individual and their circumstances. My goal is to help people find relief from their suffering and to discover new ways of experiencing life to its fullest.

My name is Savi and I’m a licensed clinical social worker in private practice. I have a particular interest in working with students as much of my clinical experience is in working with people in their teens and early 20’s who are going through the big life changes that happen at these times. There is so much to navigate during this time in life with academic demands, becoming more independent from our families, and starting new relationships. There are many reasons we are drawn to start therapy, but I find it is often because we are struggling with difficult feelings related to these things that we may not understand and don’t know how to get rid of. I think it’s important that you have a safe place to talk about these feelings and for us to begin to understand what is underneath them.

Pursuing our goals by obtaining a higher education can be exciting and challenging. Many of us experience challenges with anxiety, stress, perfectionism, life transitions, depression, a sense of identity, sexual orientation and relationships. I also help people from all walks of life, socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities, spiritual beliefs and ages. In addition to supportive and psychodynamic approaches, I work with specific trauma treatments. I help people who have experienced trauma involving relationships and abuse. I provide treatment for different types of dissociation. I look forward to see how I can be of help!
