My passion for this work stems from my own struggles with mental health throughout my life. I know firsthand how important it is to have the proper support. I identify with the LGBTQIA+, kink/BDSM, and poly/ENM communities, so I am familiar with the unique issues facing these marginalized communities, and also the struggle to find a safe space to express your unique self when seeking help. Whether the issues you are seeking therapy for are directly related to your identity or not, you can freely be yourself in our sessions and let your guard down. You will not have to expend the emotional labor to educate me about your identity(ies). I provide a safe space, while clarifying your goals and desired outcome for therapy. I tailor my approach to your unique needs. However you identify, I will meet you where you are at on your personal journey, and together we can work to figure out how you can live your most authentic life. Change does not happen overnight. It requires time, patience, and a willingness to be vulnerable. If you are ready to take the first step today, I would love to hear from you so we can get started! Acorn Psychotherapy offers outpatient teletherapy to women, lgbtqia+ folks, and couples.
My style of therapy is very laid back, as I believe comfort is the most important part of the therapy process. In order to discuss difficult topics or begin to work towards goals, there has to be a strong therapeutic relationship. I begin to build this relationship by getting to know my client's personalities, family structure, work life, friendships, etc. Once I get to know you, I can better understand patterns, coping skills, and/or emotions that may be occurring in response to stressors. I also am very client-centered and will tailor the therapy process around what is best for each client. Everyone is different and that means that therapy will look different for each person.
I specialize in working with university students and can help with struggles including anxiety, depression, emotion regulation, OCD, borderline personality disorder, adjustment disorders and relationship issues. My work is genuine and authentic and I use evidence-based practices such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) tailored to your needs. If you would like to schedule a phone consultation and discuss your therapy needs, please email me at drvinerpsych@gmail.com. I hope to hear from you soon!

Hi there, I'm Jennie. I'm an Asian-American psychotherapist committed to partnering with you on this journey. My work focuses on promoting deeper wellness and considers the entire human experience: from what appears in the here and now to a deep dive into your life. As a therapist, I enjoy collaborative curiosity and work out of a humanistic, anti-oppressive lens.

You feel like there's a rule book for life that you missed. Things were ok until college started, but now the social stressors, time management, relationships, or even just getting easy assignments done is hard. You have/need an ADHD or Autism diagnosis, or maybe people tell you that you should, but what does that really mean? I can help you understand what this means for you; how impacts you, and what this might mean in relationships. This might include work on planning, executive functioning, anxiety, working on personal goal setting/finding direction, or a diagnostic evaluation, or being yourself. You'll have a safe place to be yourself, insight into your life, and concrete tips for moving forward, allowing you to be the best possible version of yourself. It's about you.
All of our clinicians are trauma informed and LGBTQ+ friendly. Many of us are bilingual, and understand different cultures. We would love to help you thrive!
Hello! I’m a trauma-informed psychodynamic therapist with clinical experience covering a wide range of issues in adolescence and adulthood. I am well-versed in working with people experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma recovery/PTSD, grief, relationship and communication issues, intimate partner violence, out-of-control behaviors, problematic substance use, and school/work stress. I will support you in finding deeper feelings of fulfillment, ease, self-alignment, and possibility in your life. I work primarily with college students and people in the years after they leave or graduate college. Changes in social life, feeling a part of something bigger or not, family dynamics, and/or figuring out work can be tough on top of whatever you were already dealing with. The political moment brings feelings of despair, rage, and loneliness. People I work with are deeply affected. You don’t have to figure everything out alone. I work well with individuals of all backgrounds. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, and with years of experience in non-monogamous relationship structures, I work with many queer and trans people and people in non-monogamous relationships. I deeply respect the unique lives of the individuals I work with, and I love to witness their progress toward their goals. My therapy approach is psychodynamic - grounded in the understanding that past experiences influence us consciously and unconsciously. I use a strengths-based, whole-person perspective, and I also offer skills and tools using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) depending on your goals for therapy. I work alongside you in a process of exploration and meaning making. You can expect me to be warm, humorous, genuine, and straight-forward. I would love to hear from you.
