I have 15 years of experience as an LCSW-C supporting, educating and holding emotional space for young adults and their families. I have post graduate training with a Certification in Child and Adolescent Therapy, a Certification in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and am a Certified Anxiety Treatment Professional. I am also trained as an ADHD Coach for college students and young adults. I am a Certified Mental Coach for high school and college athletes. I work collaboratively with young adults and their families dealing with issues of anxiety, depression, family conflicts, sexuality, and childhood traumas. I partner with students and schools to support clients with ADHD and educational issues. I believe in meeting the client where they are and looking for therapeutic strategies that fit their lifestyle and background. Mental health is very personal, based on client experiences. I see therapy as a tool to help client identify strengths and teach effective coping strategies and skills they can apply to their lives now and for future struggles. I consider myself fortunate to be able to work in a profession that I truly love and I consider a privilege to be invited into my clients' inner lives, and to travel this journey with them through healing, change, and self-empowerment. I see therapy as a process of identifying strengths and struggles and teaching clients to harness their own power.

We can all benefit from gaining insights, learning skills, and having “tune ups” along the way. If you’re feeling stuck, struggling with how you feel about yourself or in relationship with someone, experiencing unwanted or intrusive thoughts or memories from a past experience, ruminating on negative thoughts or beliefs, or feeling anxious or depressive symptoms, you don’t have to walk through it alone! Our therapists use various counseling approaches that include evidence based treatments like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, EMDR, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Because we are out of network, we can also get creative within our work with you. We’ll utilize appropriate techniques such as music or walk-and-talk therapy and can even take “field trips” with you if we deem it beneficial in your treatment (ie- restaurant outings, exposure therapy for certain phobias, home visits, etc.)

Lindsey is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA License #A20671) in North Carolina as well as a National Certified Counselor (NCC Certification #1735054). She received two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Spanish Language and Literature in 2020 followed by a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2024. Currently, Lindsey is actively pursuing credentialing as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). At the heart of Lindsey's work is a deep belief in the inherent worth, dignity, and potential of every person. She approaches therapy with the understanding that healing begins in spaces where people are truly seen, witnessed, heard, and valued. Her practice is rooted in a person-centered philosophy that honors each individual's unique story, inner wisdom, and capacity for growth. Guided by principles of trauma-informed care, cultural humility, and social justice, she acknowledges the complex intersections of identity, culture, and systemic factors in mental health. Lindsey's areas of focus include trauma, grief, anxiety, depression, religious trauma/church hurt, women’s issues, self-esteem, body image, identity, life transitions, and relational conflict. She tailors her therapeutic approach to each client’s individual needs and goals, integrating elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Expressive Arts Therapy when supportive to the healing process. When working with children, Lindsey uses a Child-centered Play Therapy (CCPT) approach, creating a safe and supportive environment through which children can fully express themselves through play—their natural language. She respects and trusts in each child’s inner ability to grow and heal, and honors their pace, choices, and unique ways of making sense of the world. Outside of the counseling room, Lindsey enjoys spending time with family, entertaining her two cats, playing board games, building lego, bird-watching, reading a good book, doing something crafty, or grabbing a cup of coffee with friends. Lindsey recognizes the courage it takes to begin counseling and would be honored to walk alongside you on your journey.

Do you find yourself obsessing about weight, body image, food, calories, or working out? Do you engage in restrictive behaviors that only lead to bingeing and purging? Do you ever get intrusive thoughts or images that are distressing and you just can't seem to get rid of them? You may even have thoughts of harming someone and have to check to make sure you didn't. You don't actually want to harm them, but the thoughts keep coming. You might even worry that if you don't do something the right way, then it could result in one of your loved ones dying or 'something bad' happening. These are just some of the comments that people with Eating Disorders and OCD might struggle with. It can be very distressing and overwhelming. I work with clients on learning how to manage their emotions and sit with discomfort. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients get their lives back and actually enjoy their college career. In addition to my private practice, I also work at a university counseling center, which keeps me in tune and up to date on what today's college students are experiencing. I've worked with both traditional and non-traditional students throughout my career and enjoy helping students get back on their path to success. Many of the students I help are struggling with anxiety, depression, academic concerns, or family/relationship issues. My clients enjoy having a non-biased person to support them as they become more independent and explore who they are as a person. College is an exciting time, but can also be stressful and overwhelming. As human beings, we don't like change, and going to college means a lot of changes happening at once...again, exciting, but also scary! I help my clients learn the skills needed to feel capable, resilient, an ultimately successful in both their academic and personal life.

Do you feel like you are strapped on a roller coaster of anxiety and depression and can't get off the ride? We can feel out of control because of life changes, relationships, and significant events. We can become stuck in our own unhealthy thoughts, emotions, actions, and responses. Sometimes we hyper-focus on relationships and fixing other people. Or we may develop unhealthy patterns when using things outside of ourselves to experience immediate relief and help us cope. This may include alcohol, marijuana, pills, food, porn, exercise, gaming, social media, shopping, and gambling. You need somewhere safe to talk about the hard stuff. Every person has difficulties that feel overwhelming at some point in their lives. Being willing to ask for assistance is a courageous gift to yourself. I find it gratifying to help people struggling with anxiety and depression related to challenges in life and relationships. You are worth your own effort in becoming a healthier version of yourself! I look forward to being a part of the journey!

My name is Kira (she/her) and I am here to help you heal relational wounds. Relationships are foundational to our experience. Connection, intimacy, and feelings of safety are all tied into the relationships formed with ourselves, our communities, and even the natural world. These interactions, or lack thereof, shape our stories and affirm the kind of narratives we tell ourselves about the world around us. You and I’s relationship will act as a conduit for understanding these messages with the intention of cultivating greater connectedness. If relationships are the chapters within our stories, identity is the color and context that fills the pages. Our roles and identities are interwoven together to create the way in which we move through the world. My experience as the eldest child to Caribbean immigrants informed me of this at an early age as I realized not all of my parts of self were allowed expression. I came to understand that the cumulative burdens of family, society, and ancestry not only impacted myself, but everyone around me. The persistent stigma and lack of accessibility for quality mental health care is just one example of these collective burdens. For that reason, my practice is rooted in the belief that decolonizing mental health is essential for fostering genuine healing. I aim to expand traditional frameworks by valuing cultural diversity and understanding the role of historical trauma in shaping individual experiences. Together, we will navigate the impact of these legacies on mental health, promoting an inclusive and holistic therapeutic process. I look forward to connecting with you soon.
